Edvard Munch's Writings
The Munch Museum’s project related to Edvard Munch’s writings was initiated in August 2007. The resulting digital archive was launched in its first beta version 20 January 2011.
This website is primarily in Norwegian, but we try to include information, resources and texts in English, French and German to make it possible for non-Norwegians to browse the archive. In the right hand menu you can find links to the materials and resources that are available in English.
About the website
This site has been developed at the Munch Museum. Munch's own texts is found under the heading «Munchs tekster» [Munch's texts] in the purple menu. The materials prepared by the museum is twofold. The part in the red menu is labeled «Ressurser« [Resources] and contains lists of persons and institutions, a commentary to the texts, articles on relevant topics, digital stories, programs for primary school (age 10 to 13) and for high school (age 16 to 19), as well as an English, a French and a German «corner». The orange menu, called «Om arkivet« [About the Archive] contains information about the site, the collection, and about the project behind the website, the guidelines for transcription and encoding, etc. Please contact us if you have any comments or questions!
